Why Learn Academic English?

Learning Academic English is an important skill. Working on your reading and writing skills will help you in the job world. Learning english in school will help you when you write professional letters to your boss, a memo, a lesson plan, or any other writing assignment you will need to do in whatever profession you end up in. Reading is a part of your everyday life. You read books for school, books for fun, text messages, e-mails, letters, or information about the food your buying. Reading and writing are such important aspects in our lives that taking classes to improve them can only benefit us in the long run.

About Me

My name is Kaite Fila and i'm a sophmore at Northeastern Illinois University. I'm twenty years old and I'm an Elementary Education Major. I currently work at the Jewish Community Center in Skokie Illinois. I've been a staff member there for almost five years. Over the summer I work in the day camp as a counselor with anywhere between kindergarden and third graders. During the school year I work in the day care. In the day care I work with all ages between infants (four month olds) and pre-schoolers. My hobbies are drawing, listening to music, swimming, and horseback riding. I love hanging out with my friends, going to the movies, and relaxing at home while reading a good book. I'm very energetic and when I'm with my friends we tend to act a little crazy. So that's a little information about me.
